Is the airport open in all weather?

The airport does not close because of bad weather. Very occasionally a flight may not land due to poor visibility and will divert to the nearest suitable airport. If in doubt please contact your airline directly.

What are the parking arrangements at the airport and what do they cost?

There are both short and long term parking options available at the airport and prices vary according to which car park you use and how long you stay.

Do I have to pay just to drop a passenger off?

There is a free drop off and pick up zone outside the terminal. You can also park in the short term car park free of charge for the first 20 minutes.

Is there under cover parking?

No

Is the car park locked overnight?

No, the car park is not locked at night. However, we do have a full time security guard patrolling the airport grounds from 10pm until 6am.

Is there a bus service available?

No there is no bus service to and from the airport. However, there are taxi services available

What facilities are available for the disabled?

There are disabled car parks in both the long and short term car parks.

In the terminal we have disabled toilets on both levels and a lift.

Air New Zealand also has equipment to assist disabled passengers on and off their aircraft.

Is there a departure tax?

No

Are baggage trolleys available?

Yes, they are located in the baggage collection area.

Is there an ATM?

Yes, in the terminal building next to check in.

Is there a shop/café?

Yes, the airport café is open daily from 30 minutes prior to the first scheduled departure until the last departure. Apart from a range of fresh sandwiches, wraps, cakes, slices and drinks they also sell reading material and souvenirs.

The café is licensed.

What airlines operate at the airport?

Air New Zealand

Sunair aviation also offers nationwide charter services.

Are there rental cars available?

Yes, there a number of rental car companies that have counters in the terminal next to the check in area.

Is there a Koru lounge?

Yes, upstairs at the City end of the terminal.

Are there meeting rooms available for hire?

Yes there is a board room type facility equipped with power point and white boards. Catering is available with prior notice. All inquiries please contact the Airport directly on 021 243 2721.

Is there Wi-Fi available? 

Yes in the terminal and the Koru lounge.
